En dat werd een succes! Halloumi kaas is bij uitstek geschikt om te bakken: het smelt nauwelijks en krijgt zonder paneren een mooi krokant korstje. De smaak is (gelukkig) niet sterk, redelijk neutraal, zoal feta maar dan wat minder sterk, zeg maar. Echt heerlijk om zo als vleesvervanger te eten, of om een salade mee te maken. Dat recept volgt later, voor nu houden we het op hellim peyniri kızartması (gebakken halloumi kaas).

Benodigdheden
halloumi kaas (zoveel als gewenst)
olie om in te bakken
Bereiding
Haal de kaas uit de verpakking. Soms is het wat nattig, dan kun je de kaas even droog deppen met wat keukenpapier. Snij de kaas in plakken of in blokjes.
Verhit een klein laagje olie in een koekenpan. Laat dit heet worden en leg dan de kaas in de pan. Laat de kaas op middelhoog vuur een mooi bruin korstje krijgen, draai de kaas dan om en bak ook de andere kant bruin.
Bewaren
Hellim peyniri kızartması (gebakken halloumi kaas) is nog warm het lekkerst. Meteen opeten dus!
